March 13, 2012At this point personally, I’m more interested in the Captain Action gear than I am the costumes. There are lots of nice models of superheros out there today, but Captain Action was more than that. He had his own Sci-fi weapons rack, mortar, survival vest and adventure gear that put GI Joe to shame. e.g. the Buck Rodgers costume wasn’t much but the jet pack that came with it was essential.
I wan’t Action Boy as my Action Boy figures have been cursed in the past. I also REALY want Lady Action (Though why does she have CA and not LA on her chest?).
For the collectors market maybe do some of the Pulp heroes that haven’t been done to death in action figures. The Rocketeer, G-8, Doc Savage, The Shadow.
Still waiting on Doctor Evil (CA) as Doctor Evil (Austin Powers).

March 28, 2012See the March 8th entry of the Joe Report to see what some customizer has done with existing vehicles to make for Captain Action and has even created a Lady Action! Nice work! Scott

April 16, 2012I am a little miffed that it was not widely explained that the old Captain Action figures (ala 1967 & 1996) could not support the NEW costumes. The hand (glove) change outs and head size cause all sorts of “unique” issues. If you do not use the new Caption Action Deluxe figure… good luck!
How about a set of hand adapters and new head for the older figures (if they are still in one piece). This could add quite a premium to the costumes, because you would need a new “deluxe” figure for each one, to put the up coming Avengers together.
Thanks for your response.

April 16, 2012Hi Don,
thanks for your note. There were really no surprises here. We mentioned many times that the new uniforms would fit Playing Mantis and/or Ideal figures as well with the exception of the gloves as that is a new feature. You can get these gloves on an older figure if you pop off the hands. I like your idea about hand adapters. We’ll certainly look into that!
Best,
